Re: Changes to Surveillance Testing Notifications
Over the last few weeks, we have experienced some processing delays which have resulted in delayed notifications to participants of sample receipt and flagged samples.
This term, we have made an effort to contact all participants who have been flagged for follow up testing by 8am on the day following sample submission.
As of May 9, individuals will be contacted by 6 p.m. on the day following their surveillance sample submission if they need to participate in confirmatory testing. With these changes, there will no longer be a need for delay notifications.
Anyone with a flagged sample will receive instructions for reporting to SWS for confirmatory testing, provided information about when to expect the results of those tests, as well as information about what to do while awaiting results.

Testing times have been adjusted as follows:
- Weekdays: 8:30 am - 9 am
- Saturdays: 10 am - 10:30 am
We thank everyone participating in the surveillance program for their continued cooperation. In addition to participating in Caltech's surveillance testing program, please remember to:
- Immediately notify SWS if you are ill, have had a positive test for COVID-19, or have been exposed to anyone with a positive test for COVID-19.
- Stay home if you are ill, have a fever, or have otherwise been instructed to quarantine or isolate.
- Regularly wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.
